But even a pandemic did not prevent Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ from celebrating the spring Class of 2020 graduates on May 3, via a special website. The day, the time, the moment has arrived! Come join all of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ's Spring 2020 graduates at our celebration website. Included will be a recorded video message from Chancellor Sandeen and this spring's student speakers, as well as other acknowledgments.

President Johnsen asked the university system’s three chancellors to identify areas where inter-university collaboration might be achieved. Chancellor Sandeen is reaching out to the full Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ community for YOUR suggestions. Please note any collaboration should result in cost savings, if not immediately, at least in the mid- to long-term. Ideas requested by Friday, May 1, 2020.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ's Staff Council will offer an information session about unemployment insurance benefits on Friday, May 1, from noon to 1 p.m. In cooperation with the State of Alaska's Unemployment Insurance Office, Chalise Fisk will speak with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ Staff regarding circumstances surrounding eligibility and the process to follow for access to unemployment benefits.

Looking for motivated individuals who love to spend the Alaska summer outdoors. The Applied Environmental Research Center (AERC) is looking for individuals to participate in various field projects ranging from moose browse to fish to invasive species to forestry on Joint Base Richardson-Elmendorf (JBER), for the months of May through October (may change based on field season) at a rate of $1,900 per month (participant stipend).

This time of year we celebrate commencement and the achievements of our students and faculty. We also mark the end of another academic year and begin to anticipate the next. Fiscal year ’20 has been like no other, and fiscal year ’21 is sure to also be unique with some significant challenges.
