This summer, 11 students and two professors headed out from the end of Nabesna Road to circumnavigate a mountain, raft to Cordova and cap off their coursework in outdoor leadership at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ.
After a career in the U.S. Army, Cheryl Cox Williams joined her children in pursuing a degree at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ. She soon discovered a passion for psychology, which she has put to work as president of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ’s Black Student Union. She is working to build a more understanding future for Alaskans of all backgrounds.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ finance major, French minor and current USÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ student body president Geser Bat-Erdene believes that no matter where you are, you can achieve success. "You can succeed anywhere if you dedicate yourself to something that you truly want to do," he said.
Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ’s Learning Commons houses five tutoring centers in addition to remodeled study rooms and the Academic Coaching Center. The newly revamped space has something for everyone and is available for students, staff, faculty and the Anchorage community.
