University of Alaska President Jim Johnsen has named Matthew Cooper as the university鈥檚 next General Counsel. Cooper鈥檚 appointment will follow the retirement of UA鈥檚 current General Counsel Michael Hostina in June. The General Counsel serves as the chief legal officer to the Board of Regents, statewide administration and all campuses throughout the university system.

OIT鈥檚 Video Conferencing Services announces synchronous Zoom training sessions, May 7-15. Sessions will cover the basics of using Zoom, security best practices, how to be an excellent host, along with an overview of special features like file sharing, screen sharing and breakout rooms. Useful and timely information for any Zoom user! Each session will be one-hour long, followed by a 30-minute Q-and-A.
