Job opening: Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ IT Services Senior Service Center Technician

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ IT services is seeking a Senior Service Center Technician to join our team. We are looking for someone with a solid customer focused technology background who can help our customers with their technology needs. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ IT Services is a great place to work, with a positive team dedicated to student, faculty and staff success. Review will begin Nov. 13 and applicants can apply until the position is closed.

Student Union holiday hours

For the remainder of the fall semester, the Student Union will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The building will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26–27, for Thanksgiving. The building will also be closed during the break between semesters (Dec. 12, 2020–Jan. 10, 2021).

Associate Vice Chancellor for Research receives Can-Am Civil Engineering Amity Award

In early November, the American Society of Civil Engineers honored Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Aaron Dotson with the 2020 Can-Am Civil Engineering Amity Award, commemorating an exemplary academic and research career.

November is National Career Development Month

November is recognized as National Career Development Month by the National Career Development Association (NCDA). In celebration, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ students, alumni, and community employers are invited to explore, develop, and connect through career development programming, including the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ 2020 Virtual Fall Career Fair and a variety of workshops and presentations. First-Generation Week Celebration Events

First-Generation Week, Nov. 9-13, celebrates all students who come from families where neither parent has completed a bachelor's degree, making them First-Generation college students!

Nov. 10, 2020: Town Hall with UA President Pitney and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ Chancellor Sandeen

Interim President Pat Pitney will hold a virtual conversation with the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ community at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10 via Zoom. During the one-hour event, Pitney will discuss her vision and key messages, FY22 budget planning, and process for interim and permanent Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ chancellor selection. She also will take questions.

Knockout November offers free activities for all fitness levels

Knockout November is a series of activities designed by Kinesiology students from HPER to keep the community active and staying healthy during the end of the semester! Physical activity has been proven to have many health benefits and we know the winter can be a hard time to find that motivation to stay physically active, but we have you covered! All you have to do is "Zoom" in and try your best!

BOR takes proactive steps to address racial justice at UA, approves FY22 budget

The University of Alaska Board of Regents set a high priority on UA’s commitment to racial diversity, equity and inclusion during its Nov. 6 meeting. The board unanimously adopted a motion that directs the university president to take the steps necessary to understand the university climate and academic programming, and identify the barriers, challenges and opportunities to improve participation and outcomes for Alaska Native and Indigenous students, faculty, and staff.

Deadline to apply for fall graduation/commencement is Friday, Nov. 13

A graduation application must be submitted in UAOnline by Nov. 13, 2020 to participate in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ’s virtual commencement ceremony on Dec. 13, 2020. We've teamed with MarchingOrder to give Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ’s 2020 graduates the opportunity to create a personal slide including a photo and quote, and to pre-record the pronunciation of their name to be read aloud during the ceremony. Graduates who apply for graduation by Nov. 13 will receive details by email within three business days.
