This spring, students in Alex Slivka’s Student Managed Portfolio course were the first to have the opportunity to make recommendations for the new Seawolf Investment Fund, a $1 million gift made by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ alumnus Gary Klopfer and his wife, Jane Cuddy Klopfer, in 2021.

Kachemak Bay Writers’ Conference returns to in-person

Seventy-five writers of all levels gathered in Homer to learn from local writers and authors, as well as hear from Pulitzer Prize winning poet and conference keynote speaker, Jericho Brown. The 2022 conference marks the return to an in-person event and the first time it took place on the Kachemak Bay Campus.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ’s College of Health received a $4 million federal grant to support Alaska’s health care workforce by expanding key programs and making facility improvements. The announcement, made at the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ Health Sciences Building by Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development Alejandra Castillo, comes as Alaska sees an unprecedented health care workforce shortage.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ dental hygiene students recently presented their research on therapy dogs in dentistry. During the presentation, the team discussed the benefits of dental therapy dogs, what kind of specialized training therapy dogs receive and what it might look like to have one in the office.
