Bring your marshmallows, they’re lighting up the Cuddy Quad. Innovative new ideas for using winter outdoor spaces on campus during the weeklong Winterfest celebration combine art, fire, dancing, tiny snowmen and feats of engineering.
We wanted to offer a special tip of the winter cap to all the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ alumni who made this year's 'Alaska Journal of Commerce' Top Forty Under 40 list. There are more than a dozen with green and gold ties, including Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ's own Harry Need and Amanda Metivier.
He spent the early years of his life fighting for civil rights in his homeland of Togo but finally fled to Mali and then to Anchorage for the sake of his family. He recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in languages and is a leader in the Refugee Congress. Meet Claude Emile Mabudu.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ alumni now have a dedicated home on Main Street Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ. The new Alumni Center at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ, between the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ/APU Consortium Library entrance and Kaladi Brothers Coffee, opened its doors today.
Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ is becoming a more welcoming place for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students, thanks to the efforts of SafeZone. Its trainer, Maria Bonifacio, recently won an ACPA public service award for her work in creating compassion on campus and in the Anchorage community.

The Tuskegee Airmen shattered ugly myths about African Americans by demonstrating courage and expertise in combat during World War II. One of those Airmen, Lt. Col. Leo Gray, spoke at the recent kickoff event for Black History Month 2014.
