Structuring support

If there is anything civil engineering and project management alumnus Mohamed Niagne is passionate about, it is support structures — in engineering, and especially in relationships. As the graduate student commencement speaker for the fall Class of 2024, Niagne hopes to convey the importance of those support structures, which led him from the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ to his current position at the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities.

‘By Alaskans, for Alaskans’: Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ launches the state’s first graduate program in school psychology

Alaska is facing a youth mental health crisis — a situation exacerbated by the lack of services available. In response to this urgent need, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ will launch the state’s first Master of Science in School Psychology program in fall 2025. Program director Harvey has garnered substantial financial backing, including a $1.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education. Read more.

The Arctic Leadership Initiative is searching for undergraduate and graduate students to participate in a student cohort. The deadline to apply is Monday, January 6, 2024.

Parking garage roofs are closed for the 2024-2025 winter season due to weather conditions. Beginning November 4, 2024, the Seawolf Shuttle will operate between the hours of 7:45am - 5:45pm. This new schedule adjustment will be in effect throughout the remaining fall 2024 semester. If you have any questions, contact Parking Services at 907-786-1119. 

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ Financial Services, including Accounts Payable & Travel, the Office of the Bursar, Financial Systems and Wolfcard, will be closed Monday, December 23, 2024. Departmental deposits are due by noon on Friday, December 20, 2024 and may be placed in the drop box outside ESH 102. Student account payments may be made 24/7 in UAOnline.

The Seawolf Food Pantry's last day of the semester will be Friday, Dec. 6.
